I'm almost 18 weeks pregnant and I have been craving Subway like a crazy person. well, the other day I gave in because I've heard of so many people who have eaten Subway and deli meat and have been fine, same with their babies. I had a salami and pepperoni sub, but I didn't have them heat it up. I've had it twice. what are the actual chances of getting listeria from this?

Theres really no way of knowing...which is why they tell you to just avoid it....next time just make sure you get it heated up...it may taste a little different but at least it will kill any bacteria if it is there. Im sure youre fine though I wouldnt worry too much. Good Luck!!

I'm almost 20 weeks and gave in to a craving for a sub last week. The way I figure it, women have been eating cold cuts for years and years with no problems. most women I talk to didn't even know you weren't supposed to have them when pregnant. I have been eating them sparingly since I found out, and will probably continue on this way.

Its very rare. I see it as like 2 pregnant women got it so they have to warn you about it so they won't get sued. I wouldn't eat it all the time but occasionally its ok.

What are the chances of listeria?
