I just found out that South carolina just approved to allow its workers to take take MLK DAY off in 2000. Martin Luther King will always be remembered and never forgoten why can't everyone see what this man did to change are country?

Because government officialss didn't want it to be a holiday. the reason was because he wasn't a president, but he was a leader of boycotts and was a civil rights activist. So many states agreed to the holiday, but took other states awhile to agree to it.

I understand you may respect this man as I do. but, do we really need an excuse for a day off of work or school....its not like your going to do anything in respects for this man....Now, that is what i call disrespectful...
