Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month around Central Florida
Orlando, Florida. Hispanic Heritage Month is in full swing – so you may be looking for events and activities that will help you learn about and celebrate the cultures that have added such richness to the makeup of Central Florida.
The good news is that no matter what you’re interested in, there are plenty of exciting things to happen over the next month—something for everyone. Click on the event name for details and tickets.
The Arts and Heritage Center celebrates Spanish Heritage Month – 17 September
Central Florida has featured artists Maricela Rodriguez, Jose Pardo, Ralph Aguirre and Nelson Cardenas taking the everyday life of Spanish culture and transforming them into enchanting and vibrant masterpieces.
There will be many other artists at the center in Auckland and local band ATTO Music Project will perform live music at the opening ceremony.
Florida Puerto Rican Parade and Festival – September 18
It usually takes place in April, but there is a whole week of activities starting on September 10th. It’s part of the statewide Puerto Rican Parade initiative, and the fun will continue, too, with food, live music, vendors, and crafts.
Ritmo del Sol: A Latin Jazz Celebration – September 18
CFCArts Big Band is presenting this event in Apopka. This fun, vibrant and lively party that incorporates diverse musical styles – salsa, samba, Afro Cuban pop, bossa nova and more – is inspired by some of the greatest Latin jazz artists.
Smithsonian Museum Day: A Celebration of Latin American Art and Culture – September 18
Celebrate the arts and culture of Latin America! There will be many Central Florida artists representing a variety of Latin American countries, exhibiting and selling their artwork. Meet and greet artists, watch live art performances and bring the kids because they’ll get family-friendly activities and events.
Fiesta Latina: A Spanish Heritage Dance – September 25
Latin Music with 10-Piece Band brings classic salsa, merengue, bachata and bolero to Orlando.
Lake Nona Social Heritage Festival – 25 September
The event includes authentic gourmet meals from at least seven different countries, check out the cooking show and enjoy a kids’ zone with live music!
Salsa e Sazone Festival of Latin Music and Music – September. 26
This year, it will take place in Festival Park. The festival is for all ages while discovering all kinds of music and flavours. There is also a children’s area.
Celebrating Orlando Hispanic Heritage Month – October 12
Orlando Mayor Paddy Dyer and City Commissioner 2 Tony Ortiz will celebrate the diversity of our community at Amway Center. The event is free and will also include Latin cuisine, music, and entertainment.
Noche de Esperanza: A celebration of Hispanic heritage and hope – October 14
Young Leaders Awards Ceremony for Hispanic Heritage Month, dinner and a grand end-of-month celebration.
Cali Orange Festival – October 24
This festival will occupy downtown Orlando with dozens of artists, and three stages with salsa, merengue and bachata, and traditional Latin food and drinks in over 10 city blocks.
Spanish Heritage Month Art Exhibition – 1 September – October. 28
Galleries will be in multiple locations and feature traditional dresses and artwork highlighting Spanish culture by local artists from all over Central Florida.
Latin American / Latinx Film Festival – September to November
The festival will screen six different films from a variety of countries.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage at the Orange County Public Library – Ongoing
All kinds of events for kids including virtual and in-person events focusing on arts and crafts, food, stories and more with the aim of educating children in many countries.
FIFA Osceola 2021-9 October
The Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 29th annual event with live performances by Lalo Rodriguez and Edwin el Calvito Reyes y Orquesta Fuego.
Networking Spanish Heritage Month – October 14

Spanish Heritage Month: Art in Public – 3 September – November. 5
Local artists who will be exhibiting this year are Veronica Garcia, Karami Gumi, Marisela Rodriguez, Michele Irisari, and Jane Bolanos. The Kissimmee City Commission celebrates the life and culture of the Hispanic/Latinx community residing in our city and in all of Central Florida.
25th Annual Latin Festival – October 10
The event includes over 40 vendors, giveaways, and plenty of Latin food, music, art, and entertainment.
Viva Brevard – October 9
This annual festival includes live music, food, a kids’ zone, exhibitors, a business fair, and more.
Unidos en la Musica: Latin American Festival – September. 25
In partnership with The Hispanic American Club of Palm Coast, Latin Community Services hosts the event with live performances, dinner, and dessert.
Annual Spanish Heritage Music and Dance – September 17
Free, family-friendly event filled with dancing and singing at Ocala.
