There’s a new way for people to learn about things to do in Orlando outside of the theme parks and in our local neighborhoods to help plan their next vacation. Just say – “Alexa, launch Visit Orlando” To begin exploring Tripadvisor’s first immersive audio experience in North America via Amazon Alexa, in partnership with Visit Orlando.

Tripadvisor and Visit Orlando have come together to create a fully immersive audio tourism experience using Amazon Alexa voice technology. With travel back after the pandemic and reaching new heights, the new Alexa skill uses Tripadvisor’s community-supported content to inspire and drive demand for tourism in Orlando. The experience highlights undiscovered activities throughout the destination’s neighborhoods, such as eco-tourism attractions from hiking to airboating, dining from celebrity chefs, and local arts and culture from museums to live performances.

“Although Orlando is known as the theme park capital of the world, our destination offers endless options for all kinds of travelers to uncover hidden gems throughout our unique neighborhoods from Winter Garden and downtown Orlando to Lake Nona and beyond,” said Cassandra Matig, President. and CEO of Visit Orlando. “We are excited to be partnering with Tripadvisor, to give visitors a new and innovative way to get to know Orlando, where Alexa takes listeners on a journey, offering unexpected Orlando experiences and helpful feedback from travelers who’ve been there.”

To get to Orlando powered by Tripadvisor Try it out on your Alexa device or app, voice announcements will prompt travel planners to say:

“Alexa, launch Visit Orlando.”

Through this creative partnership, consumers can go ahead and ask their Amazon Alexa devices or app many questions about Orlando to determine which neighborhood will inspire them the most, including a trip through the destination’s many must-see restaurants, hotels, and attractions. Activation will then provide specific points of interest and Tripadvisor-backed information about locations like the award-winning restaurant, The Ravenous Pig, or Orlando’s most pet-friendly Alfond Inn hotel.

This is only the second time that Tripadvisor has published this level of personalized branded content via Alexa voice integration. In October 2021, Tripadvisor was awarded the Most Innovative Use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning by The Drum (UK) for using technology with Abu Dhabi tourism partners.

Activation is currently taking place in the United States as part of the Orlando Noteworthy Neighborhood Program that includes, in addition to the audio experience, sweepstakes for branded content, custom tracks, branded email, and other online and offline promotions.
