We’ve all fallen into a bad situation, so focusing too much on it has overshadowed our outlook and thus our results.
We wear this passive force like armor and allow its weight to make us energetic, hard to live with and miserable. Maybe we advise someone we like. Place the towel in a seemingly helpless position. Push people away.
We may blame others for this situation. We may blame a circumstance. Perhaps, if we are self-aware, we are referring to the common denominator.
We are the ones who choose, so we are the ones who should take credit for how we treat ourselves and others. If we act on the way we choose to feel, we have to be prepared to pay those consequences.
Shifting blame only prolongs misery, and although we hate said misery, we actively look for confirmation bias to support our bad attitude.
This terrible thing happened, or he said, that these offensive things are all fuel to fuel our bad attitudes.
Fortunately, we have a God willing to correct us, to show us the way in His infinite love.
As I fought off my bad attitude this week, God gave me this Bible to help me get out of the pit of negativity:
Philippians 4:8 (AMPC) … all that is true, all that is worthy and honorable and seems, all that is just, all that is pure, all that is beautiful and beloved, all that is kind and wonderful and generous, if there is any Virtue and excellence, if there is something worthy of praise, consider these things and weigh them and take them into account [fix your minds on them].
This powerful Bible helped me fix my mind on its promises. And his precious word set me free.
This week’s exercise:
• When undesirable circumstances abound, deliberately stop and think of at least three things to be grateful for what just happened.
• When people say terrible things, think of at least three of their qualities that you like.
• Find a Bible to help you bring back the mindset that gives you life.
You get to decide what you think and believe in and this is one of the most empowering gifts.
Remember that you are a powerful son of God and everything you need to come out of the ashes of the past lives within you. Your comments of encouragement, questions, and prayer requests have been truly blessed. Keep comers.
