Cornerstone’s Kids continues to expand its free virtual programming, through a new partnership with Clermont-based Painting with a Twist.
The activities are for children aged 5-17 who may be experiencing the loss of someone special or facing challenges in everyday life. Developed by Kristin Nardolillo, a child bereavement consultant at Cornerstone Hospice, LCSW, activities often include music, art, games and more to help children deal with their emotions in a safe and secure environment.
“We are particularly excited to be partnering with Claremont’s Painting with a Twist Program to offer virtual workshops where children can continue painting while painting their own,” Nardolillo said. “Painting workshops are free, but space is limited and students must register at least a week in advance so supplies can be shipped.”
Cornerstone’s Kids is open to students who live in Lake, Sumter, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Highlands, and Hardee counties, as well as a few counties in Georgia. Some activities are designed specifically for children in the Cornerstone Children’s Bereavement Program.
The Twisted Workshop board is by Julie Render (for ages 5-11), Dec. 3; and Stealin’ Christmas (for ages 12-17), December 3.
Almost all events take place, and unless otherwise noted, start at 4:30 p.m., families must register in advance.
