Washington [US], Nov. 26 (ANI): Glenn Close is set to reprise her role from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series, directed by James John, in a ride experience built around Disney’s new rollercoaster.

According to EW, earlier this week in an official Disney Parks video preview of the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind’ coaster, Close said, “I’m really excited to reprising my role as Nova Prime for a brand new attraction coming to Epcot next summer.” We can’t wait to see you all out there to help us save the galaxy. See you soon!” The Academy Award-nominated actress made her debut as Commander of Xandar (and commander of the Nova Corps) in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and the character takes on a new place in the “Other World” wing of Wonders of Xandar. Inside, guests will learn more about the Xandarians and their advanced technologies, which they bring to us here on Earth, or Terra, as they call our planet, according to the Disney Parks blog.

Set to welcome its first riders in time to celebrate the park’s 40th anniversary, “Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind” will feature a retrograde launch that takes riders into a standalone story inspired by both Guardians films.

Along the track, riders will also experience gravity through pioneering vehicle technology, where individual train carriages transporting guests along the inner coaster track will spin in controlled directions, as opposed to free-wheeling motions as seen on Disney’s earlier primitive train at Animal Kingdom, to focus on the action. that occur at various points of the ride.

‘Cosmic Rewind’, which replaces Elaine’s old dark energy adventure ride that previously starred Ellen DeGeneres and science man Bill Nye, is part of Disney’s overhaul of Epcot’s property that also includes the opening of the boat ride ‘Frozen Ever After’ For 2016, it recently opened Soul and Ratatouille themed attractions, a complete redesign of the Future World plaza in the park, and an upcoming experience inspired by the world of “Moana.”

According to EW, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind’ will open in summer 2022 at Epcot, one year before ‘Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3’ brings back Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, and Zoe Saldana to theaters in May 2023. (ANI)
