Kane and Richardson push UCF away from UConn 49-17

Orlando, Florida. – Novice Mickey Kane threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score and rushed Johnny Richardson for 147 yards and a TD while the UCF sprinted to a 49-17 win over Connecticut State on Saturday.

Richardson scored in the 9 yard race to open the scoring for the riders (7-4). Keene added 30 yards from the TD and Mark-Anthony Richards ran 8 yards as UCF led 21-0 in the first quarter and never looked back.

Kane completed 23 of 29 passes for 208 yards for the Knights. He had TD throws for Richardson covering 17 yards in the second quarter and a 3-yard TD throw to Amary Johnson in the fourth. Wide receiver Ryan O’Keefe had a 49-yard TD throw to Brandon Johnson in the middle of the second quarter for a 35-7 lead. Johnson had seven catches for 125 yards.

Novice Nathan Carter ran for 77 yards and a point per husky (1-10). Stephen Krajowski completed only 18 of 42 passes for 174 yards with three interceptions.
