The Florida Homeowners Association recently attacked a local family by threatening them with a $1,000 fine for decorating the halls too soon.

Michael Mova of Westchase, a suburb of Tampa, said he hired a company to decorate the exterior of his house on November 6 because that was the only day it had an opening. In a recent interview.

He received a letter from the HOA informing him that he was violating the association’s rules and could be fined $100 a day, up to $1,000.

Mova says he will not lower the lights.

“I can’t climb the roof by myself,” he said.

He said he offered a compromise: to keep the lights off until Christmas approached, but the Westchase Community Association rejected the idea.

The association told the TV station that a neighbor complained about the lights, prompting the community manager to investigate.
