Orlando’s Running Man Theater Company Presents Live Radio Play It’s A Wonderful Life on WPRK

Back in 1947, Frank Capra’s holiday chestnut It’s a wonderful life It found a second life as a radio drama, broadcasting over the airwaves with Jimmy Stewart reprising his role as George Bailey. Since then it has been rebroadcast and rebroadcast for radio several times. Listeners and theater fans in Orlando can immerse themselves in the tradition next month thanks to the efforts of local Running Man Theater company and Rollins College radio station WPRK.

On Thursday, December 9, Running Man will be conducting a radio playback version of life At the Annie Russell Theater on the Rollins Campus that will broadcast free simultaneously on WPRK. Both would be two very distinct ways to experience this play.

Running Man Theater is a comprehensive company for actors and artists “of all abilities” to hone their craft and take the stage. This production will include members of this company working alongside Rollins students.

“With the musical success of last year, we have shown that there are no limits to what we can all achieve. It is a wonderful life that reminds us of the gift of society and how lucky we are to be able to set up a stage at this time with family and friends around us,” She said Marianne de Quatro, artistic director of The Running Man Theatre, in a press release.

It’s a wonderful life Happening Thursday, December 9th at 7pm at both the Annie Russell Theater and on Radio 91.5-FM on Your Radio. Tickets are now available through OCA.
