PureCycle, Berry Global Make Advanced Conventional Recycled Resin

The Berry Global Group has announced an agreement with PureCycle that will supply Berry with PureCycle’s advanced recycled and recycled resin. North American consumers are increasingly interested in the sustainability of the package. According to Berry Global, if given the option to purchase products with recyclable or compostable packaging, 47% of Americans would choose recyclable products as their first choice, and 20% would prefer compostable products.

Americans are concerned about the environmental impact of the products they buy, and companies are betting that consumers will buy a product that is clearly labeled environmentally friendly. As the demand for sustainable products grows, customers are looking to Berry’s access to recycled materials and packaging design expertise to maintain their brand image and packaging performance. As a result, Berry continues to lead the transformer market for access to recycled plastics—more than 600 million pounds annually by 2025. In addition to access to materials, Berry understands the specific design requirements of brands’ products—combining material expertise with product specification needs. It creates a range of opportunities for advanced recycling technology to be used in the market.
