Radical Little Plays presents a production of “The Sound of Music” for all ages

Little Radical Theatrics Inc. , a partner of Rosen JCC Town Square, is ready to present its all-age theatrical production “The Sound of Music” here in Orlando. Shows will take place on November 19 at 7 pm; November 20 at 2 PM and 7:30 PM; And on November 21 at 3 pm. All performances will be at the Rosen JCC Event Center (11184 S Apopka Vineland Rd).

The stellar cast includes 30 actors between the ages of 4 and 65+ including a group of siblings playing two of the von Trapp children; Mother, son and daughter on show together! Local Captain von Trapp is an emergency room pediatrician with Orlando Health battling COVID-19 in his day job.

Featuring a host of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, “My Favorites Things”, “Do Re Mi”, “Sixteeen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences around the world, reaping the Five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspiring story, based on the memoirs of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows a passionate proposition who acts as nanny for the seven children of arrogant Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the family. But with Nazi forces in control of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

The show is produced by Fatima Vegas and directed by Daniel Roche. It stars Katie Baez as Maria Reiner, Chad Campbell-Jordan as Captain George von Trapp, Adam Rodriguez-Hafford as Max Dettweiler, Ellie Grant as Baroness Elsa Schrader, Stephanie Lourenço Vegas as Mother, and Danielle McInnes as Lisle Von Trapp, and George Lacombe. Friedrich von Trapp, Melanie Escobar as Luisa von Trapp, Chris Bohm as Kurt von Trapp, Colette Baum as Brigitta von Trapp, Macalister Carracciolo as Marta von Trapp, Madeleine Caracciolo as Gretel von Trapp.

The local production also includes assistant director and choreographer Carly Clark, music director Nisha Jordan and stage director RJ Boma. It will be an assistant run by Peyton Bach and a partner produced by Stephanie Vegas, with lighting and sound design by Travis Eaton and costume design by Stephanie Vegas.

The show also features Landon Jackson as Rolf Gruber, Tobin Baum as Sister Margarita, Megan Penfield as Sister Perth, Blair Krah as Sister Sophia, Shelley Irene as Frau Schmidt, Aaron Bray as Franz, and Nico Allen as Hare Zeller. Warner Zing as Admiral Vaughn. Schreiber and Austin Estremera as Baron Eberfield and Kelly Farrell as Baroness Eberfield. And it’s a big production, so you’ll also discover Maa Bruce-Amanquah, Austin Estremera, Kelly Farrell, Jordan Gardner, Fernanda Guimaraes, Keely Hansen, Sol-Antonio Ramos, Sami Reese, Adelaida Rodriguez and Warner Zingg as nuns, Nazi soldiers, party guests and the citizens of Austria and group.
