Twenty-five surplus baskets are being handed over this week to multiple outreach programs in Volusia and Flagler County from in-house competition by the Southern State Department’s Daytona and Palm Coast offices.

Since mid-October, community association managers and administrative support teams have been seeking cash and food donations for families in the area who may not have eaten Thanksgiving dinner.

“Not only did we hit our target, we had two pickup trucks overflowing with extra food that we took to Family Life Center last Friday, November 19,” said Shar Khatib, President of CAM Southern States.

Over a dozen employees participated in this giving opportunity, and the Daytona office located at 1190 Pelican Bay Drive won this friendly competition to collect the most food.

“Stephanie Hull, one of our CAM groups, has been creative with her groups by asking the communities they were able to bring food to their meetings, and Joy Randolph, another CAM company, raised the most kindly interviewed money from an anonymous donor,” Khatib said. . “It was a great way to work together for those who might not be having such a good year!”

Between the two offices, dozens of locals will dine at their tables on Thanksgiving.
