Vacation program for foster dogs starts this month | Sumter County Shopper

Your Humane Society is looking for short-term foster families for its annual Homecoming Holidays program.

“Open your hearts and homes to shelter pets, so they can remember the family’s love and get a much-needed break from shelter life for a few days,” says the YHSSPCA. “The greatest gift of kindness is what the holidays are all about.”

A no-kill shelter provides everything that is needed while the animal is staying with its custodial family. Participation will help promote the adoptable animals at the shelter to family, friends and neighbors, and the kennel manager will work with foster families to find the best matches.

Foster families are needed on the dates of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve.

Pet picking days in November are November 22 and November 23, with the animals returning to the shelter on November 27. In December, pet picking days will be December 21 and December 22, with returns between December 27 and January 2, 2022.
